This is just a place to post crappy phone photos of birds

A pretty little lady cardinal. Meant to just a picture of her on the wire but she flew off right as I took it.

Always a treat when you see a bird of prey! The picture doesn't really do it justice, it was huge. Best guess is that it was a turkey vulture. Weird to see one this far into the city, but not impossible. There's some woods near here, and one time while driving back to our place my sibling and I saw a deer. I figure if there's enough wilderness (for lack of a better word) near by to see deer it's enough to attract vultures.

An eastern bluebird, it was actually the first one I saw for spring. Bluebirds symbolize hope, and while that doesn't mean a lot since so many birds symbolize hope, I think it actually fits the bluebird. I was in a depressive funk, and I hadn't peeled back my curtains to look at the birds in weeks. But I opened them up a little and immediately spotted this guy, and I spent the next hour just sitting by the window soaking in some much needed sun, long, even long after he flew off.
